Dr Gaurav Kharya

Dr. Gaurav Kharya is an internationally recognized Bone Marrow Transplant specialist known for his pioneering work in haploidentical bone marrow transplants for sickle cell disease. With more than 20 years of experience, he has performed nearly 1000 bone marrow transplants, including over 100 successful transplants for sickle cell disease, one of the highest in India.

Dr. Kharya specializes in Pediatric Hematology, Oncology, Immunology, and Bone Marrow Transplantation. He has worked with leading institutions in India and the United Kingdom, including Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, Dr. B L Kapur Memorial Hospital, The Great North Children’s Hospital (UK), and Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, London.

After returning to India in 2014, he focused on making bone marrow transplant treatment more accessible and affordable for children suffering from blood disorders such as Thalassemia, Leukemia, and Sickle Cell Disease.

Currently, Dr. Gaurav Kharya serves as the Clinical Lead at the Center for Bone Marrow Transplant and Cellular Therapy at Apollo Hospitals and is also the Founder & Director of Cellogen Therapeutics.
