Welcome The Unwelcome

Welcoming The Unwelcome is a Cape York-based initiative that centres the stories and lived experiences of Indigenous LGBTQIA+ peoples. Through photography and narrative, it documents the culture, resilience, and wellbeing of First Nations Sistergirl and Brotherboy communities, challenging colonial and queerphobic stereotypes. The project honours land, body, and cultural sovereignty, while creating a space for visibility, connection, and storytelling.
