In the late eighties and with a background in the creation of technical illustration on a traditional drawing board, Neil West joined the design industry creating technical publications and associated literature for various companies in the North of England. Whilst originally employing the now long-forgotten practice of creating physical artwork to send to printers, it wasn’t long before the digital revolution began and desk top publishing became the industry standard. With a lone Apple Mac II, pirated software and no user manual, he was set the task of learning this new technology and converting his manual skill set into one that could be performed with a mouse and keyboard. Fast forward six years, and in 1995, enforced redundancy from a failing company caused Think Tank Creative Design to be born.
